Caring for the planet on which we all live and reducing our carbon footprint has become an overriding concern and goal for many Americans. SMC Packaging takes these concerns seriously through active environmental efforts. 100% of the corrugated scraps and paper generated by our firm are recycled. Strategic light fixtures and low-voltage lighting are utilized throughout our plants to reduce power usage. Our company is a certified member of the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI). This certification is a sign that the paper and wood products you purchase come from renewable, reliable sources. To assist our customers and reduce the amount of corrugated product sent to landfills, SMC Packaging brings back to its plants used corrugated containers from its customers to be sent to recycling companies.
In a nod to the importance of our environment, the company’s latest introductions are in the area of corrugated recycling containers, made from 100% post-consumer content. Five bins are offered to help organize cans, plastic, paper and trash. These bins are an environmentally friendly solution to recycling and trash flow control. All units feature color-coded artwork that educates the consumer to recycling and its importance. A weather-resistant finish is applied to each item which allows for indoor or outdoor use. Pricing for these products offers a cost effective solution for parks, special events, fairs, outdoor activities, schools, airports, etc. Easy assembly and disassembly without the use of tape or staples allows for use at multiple events.
